Mumbai: The derailment of Diva-Sawantwadi train packed with vacationers from Mumbai was absolutely a miserable incident since it had caused the death of 22 passengers. The railway officials suspected that the mishap might have taken place due to the improper welding on the track. Usually the track fractures are occurred because of temperature fluctuations. If it is so the welding failure points towards total negligence.
Commissioner of railway safety (CRS) Chetan Bakshi, who has been conducting an inquiry, said that he would hold a public hearing to gather the evidences. He will also record the accounts of railway employees.
