The satellite-based Wi-Fi, Internet on jetliners are found to have getting lightning speed. Thus the travelers in airlines can enjoy comfortable connections from the air as well as those on the ground at lower cost.
But the fast evolution of rival systems and standards, such as Ku band and Ka band are the big question in-front of airline travelers.
The drive for in-flight connections have been intensified after the disappearance of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 on March 8 with 239 people aboard. Searches are still going on at the Indian Ocean for the missing aircraft, and it could have been traced out well if a satellite system capable of streaming cockpit data had been on board.
