The family is not alone after moving to a new house in the suburbs… Although the film was well received at the Sundance Film Festival, some viewers left because of its tension. One person said, “I can’t stand the stress so late at night.” Amanda’s “Jedi Show” mention: NIGHT SWIMMING is bullshit | Explained (2024). The Presence is a chilling and atmospheric thriller that gets under your skin and stays with you long after the credits roll. The film combines psychological horror with supernatural elements, creating tense and disturbing impressions. The story tells about a small group of characters who found themselves isolated in an eerie and remote place. What begins as a slow-burning mystery quickly turns into a mind-blowing journey that blurs the line between reality and paranoia. The pace is ideal, the tension gradually builds, but at the same time there is no feeling that it is dragging on. A distinctive feature of Presence is its atmosphere. Cinematography and sound design create an exciting mood that makes you nervous. Every creak, shadow and eerie silence heightens the tension, making you feel that something terrible could happen at any moment. Performances are good, although the plot, perhaps, does not open new horizons from the point of view of horrors, it is the performance that distinguishes “Presence”. The film knows how to create a sense of dread without relying on jump scares, instead focusing on psychological tension and the unknown. If you like slow horrors with psychological undertones, this film is worth watching!
