New Delhi: The election commission of India has decided to conduct the forthcoming polls for the parliament seats from April 7 to May 12.
This is for the first time that the elections are being conducted in nine phases.
Announcing the poll schedule, the Election Commission of India has revealed that the counting of votes will be on May 16 while the results are to be announced on the same day.
Election for the Assembly seats will also be held simultaneously in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Sikkim. Election for the Telangana region will also be carried out in association with the Lok Sabha polls.
