China: Oppo has launched a new Oppo R1C smart-phone as part of its R1 smart-phone series expansion program.
The smart-phone is a refreshed version of the Oppo R1S, with features of some updated specifications.
The price of the new version of Oppo R1S is CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 25,000). Availability details of the featured smart-phone outside China are not yet revealed Interested users can order and have it from the company’s on line store.
The new smart-phone Oppo R1C is featured with Android 4.4 Kit Kat base and also shares some specifications with the R1S, including a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display, 16GB of inbuilt storage, 13-mega-pixel rear camera and a 5-mega-pixel front-facing camera.
Apart from these features, the RIC has a sapphire glass panel and a 4G connectivity.
The handset with double-SIM facility is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM, in place of the R1S’s 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with 1GB of RAM.
With the support of expandable storage via micro SD card (up to 128GB), the Oppo R1C’s 13-mega-pixel rear camera has a Sony IMX214 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens instead of the CMOS sensor in R1S.
The battery capacity has also been slightly increased from 2410mAh to 2420mAh. The device is said to be 6.8mm thick.
Oppo has made its entry into the smart-phone market by launching its Oppo R5 recently.
Even now, this is the second slimmest handset in the world with 4.85mm thickness after the Vivo X5MAX(4.75mm).
The smart-phone was launched in India last month at Rs. 29,990. The R5 smart phone is with the same processor and camera specifications as seen in the new Oppo R1C.
