Plot

The two Harkonnen sisters fight against the forces that threaten the future of humanity and founded the legendary sect that became known as the Bene Gesserit. The incident of Valya Harkonnen using her voice comes from an event called “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine in the development of the Order, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Bitch Doctors. Mentioned in Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020) AniMat. I wanted to keep this short and to the point, but I felt compelled to elaborate. There was a time when the writers knew how to weave exposition into the narrative without it feeling forced or artificial.

They push the story forward, but they’re forgettable

I understand that this is the first episode, but they have to explain everything like it’s not common knowledge. Watson (Valya), Mark Strong (Emperor), Travis Fimmel (Hart), and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (Princess) give good performances. I feel like the show is in good hands. The rest of the characters didn’t really grab my attention.

I guess we’ll see how it goes

I had a hard time focusing on the first episode. It felt like it was part of a whole that couldn’t be broken up. I’ll wait a full season before watching more episodes. They did a great job with the visuals.

The art department should get awards for how pretty it looks

The CG is high quality, the costumes are great, and Villeneuve’s vision has been maintained and expanded.
