Washington: The Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade who had an issue in US regarding the presentation of fraud visa has been denied to enter into the country. The US State Department said that her name would be placed in visa and immigration lookout systems to avoid routine visa issues. Khobragade has already departed from the US to her motherland. The US State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said that the charges against her would not be changed for any cause and her name would be placed in the visa-immigration lookout systems. He has also pointed out the possibility of her arrest if she happened to be in the country once again. According to the State Department spokesperson, Khobragade is being treated as a “persona non grata” and can be allowed to enter the country only to subject her to the jurisdiction of the US court.
Khobragade is married to an Indian-origin American national and has two daughters (aged 7 and 4). Due to the unfortunate incident, all of them are forced to relocate to India. Following her departure the US authorities categorically stated that Khobragade, who has returned to New Delhi, would not enjoy diplomatic immunity any more and an arrest warrant might be issued against her.
