Plot

A unique profile of British pop superstar Robbie Williams

The film was created from several interview recordings that filmmaker Michael Gracey made with Robbie Williams over the course of a year and a half in Williams’ home recording studio in Los Angeles, USA. Although the interviews were not originally intended for film, Gracey “just wanted to capture him [Williams] telling his story in his own voice,” he said. the majority of Williams’ voiceover in the film comes from these recordings.

I didn’t know what to expect from the film as I thought it would be quite odd to see Robbie as a monkey. Ultimately, the monkey adds a lot to the film. You immediately fall in love with him and after a few minutes, it IS Robbie.

Jonno Davies, who plays Robbie, is a brilliant actor

Even though you don’t see his face, he definitely knows how to portray him. The story is a story that will touch your heart. It’s not just about Robbie the pop star, but also a story about his younger years.

I have so much respect for him

He dares to be so vulnerable in this film, with many stories about his personal life, his career and the challenges he had to face. The music and the images also add a lot to the film. The film is a mixture of laughter, but certainly tears too.

At the end I was speechless, with tears in my eyes, but most of all PROUD of who he is today
