Thejus handed over to Indian Air force


Bangalore: The mini fighter aircraft ‘Thejus’ has been handed over to Indian Air force. During that occasion the service documents of the plane were collected by Air Chief Marshal N.A.K. Brown from the defense minister A.K. Antony.  This fighter air craft was independently developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Bangalore. Commercially, these fighter planes can be made available to the Indian air force from 2014.

Defense Minister A.K. Antony said that all the sectors of the Indian defense services will be nationalized in the near future. He wished the nationalization process to enable the nation to reduce the import of materials required by the defense sector. According to him the first step to nationalize the defense sectors have been completed fruitfully. The event to manufacture Thejus independently was started in 1983. But it took a very long duration of 30 years to get the aircraft completed.
