Dhaka: Bangladesh’s top Islamic leader Abdul Quadar Molla aged 65, was hanged to death yesterday at Dhaka. He was the senior leader of Jammat-e-Islami in Bangladesh and the charges against him were massacre and rape. It is said that he had supported Pakistan military officials for brutally killing the Bangladesh people and also involved in the massacre of distinguished professors, doctors, writers, journalists etc. The hanging took place immediately after the supreme court of the nation rejected Molla’s plea to review his death sentence. At the same time, he was not ready to seek clemency from Bangladesh President regarding the court decision to hang him to death.
