Same Sex Couples to receive more federal bene

United States: White House has decided to extend the benefits that come under Family Medical Leave Act in the United States, to all same-sex married couples in the country.
The new order will be implemented as the Obama administration alters Federal Policies to cope up with the cancellation of the Defense of Marriage Act by the Supreme Court in last June.
The newly expanded benefits allow same-sex married people to take leave from their work for caring their spouses.
The Labor Department will have to install nationwide rules to handle those workers’ claims.
According to a white House official, the Justice Department and other federal agencies have been trying to implement the Supreme Court’s ruling.
In almost all instances, the federal benefits and other obligations will be provided to the same-sex married couples irrespective of the locations they live.
It has been found by the White House that in a handful of areas, the federal law doesn’t allow same-sex spouses to enjoy the benefits.
Federal judges have ruled against gay-marriage bans in a number of states in the US this year.
