Violence in Bengal during polling


Kolkota: During the ongoing Parliament election in India, large-scale violence and booth-capturing have been reported from various parts in West Bengal. At least 13 people are said to have injured when CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress supporters clashed at Haroa in North 24 Parganas where polling was underway during the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Supporters of the both the parties pelted stones and used sticks in the clash which took place in two polling booths at Brahmanchak area of Haroa.

Opposition political parties have accused that their polling agents were driven out of booths and voters were being prevented from voting.

Congress candidate from Kolkata South Mala Roy alleged that polling agents of her parties were being driven out while the presiding officers trying to obstruct voting.
