New Delhi: On the verge of completing its term, the cabinet secretariat of the UPA government is busy in preparing a comprehensive “handover of works” for the new government.
The cabinet secretariat has asked various ministries to prepare documents to handover the next government.
One of the cabinet secretariat officials said that these documents mention in detail about the tasks to be carried out in May and during the next three months by the new government.
The documents also state about senior officials who would retire over the next three months and fresh appointments need to be made. In the case of the external affairs ministry, there would be international conferences lined up or some international commitment to be fulfilled within the time-frame of three months.
The “handover documents” process is an initiative of the United Progressive Alliance government. When the results of the Lok Sabha elections declares on May 16th, the process for the formation of the next government would be commenced.
