London: Researchers are expected to develop a unique formula by which a supersonic car (SSC) can run at a record speed of 1,000mph (1,600 kmph). They will make this possible with the aerodynamic characteristics of travelling at the fastest.
The car which has been planed to use for this purpose is the Bloodhound SSC. The jet engine that has to be used for the car will be with a rocket-propulsion system which enables the vehicle to attain a speed of 1,600 km/h. The team behind the Bloodhound SSC is expecting a speed of 1,680 km/h!
The researchers from the Swansea University are in a hurry to view the car moving with the supersonic rolling ground, rotating wheels and resulting shock waves that cause to the close proximity of the testing surface. The site for the test run of the record attempt is at Hakskeen Pan in South Africa.
The car has been proposed to make a high speed test run of up to 800mph in 2015 while the 1,000mph trial attempt has been scheduled for 2016.
