United States: Finally Microsoft has decided to give up their attention and services on Windows XP. This will come in to force from 13th April 2014. At the same time the users of Windows XP can relieve themselves by the forthcoming launch of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS which is considered as the highly independent software operating system. The new version of Ubuntu is expected to introduce by next week. Generally Ubuntu used to launch its new versions during the months of April and October every year. That is why they are suffixing the month number after the year. Thus in Ubuntu14.04, 14 refers the year 2014 while 4 to refer the month April. Next version of this sequel is Ubuntu14.10 which is expected to launch in October this year. The April launch is a little bit different from the current version Ubuntu 13.10. The launch date for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is April 17th , which is a little earlier than it was originally expected. But it is absolutely the right time since its launch comes just a week after Windows XP reaches its end. The Ubuntu 14.04 LTS version which launches on April 17 will be in association with its various flavors such as Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Server, Mythbuntu, and Edubuntu. It also suffixes the LTS name to highlight its long-term support feature. In the case of Ubuntu 14.04 this support is for five years while all its flavors have announced three years. The support will be provided by the developers together with regular updates for the kernel and the OS and ensure that users can stay safe on this software. Meanwhile all the updates for Windows XP will cease and the operating system will gradually become more and more vulnerable day after day. It has been noted that some of the Ubuntu flavors are very much similar to Windows XP, especially Lubuntu. So the users are advised to pay closer attention to the Ubuntu launch next week.
