The Microsoft who had been providing support for Windows XP for the past 12 years has decided to invest their resources towards more recent technologies which enable them to deliver great new experiences in the global software field.
If the Windows XP is being used even after the support from Microsoft ends, the computer will still work. It will, however, be vulnerable to security threats. It will also gradually become out of date and will not be able to keep-up using the OS. As more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, the users of this software can expect greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with the current Windows XP.
So the US-based multinational software firm is advising its users to upgrade their current PC or simply buy a new one. Many of the present computer systems may not be able to run Windows 8.1, the latest version of Windows. The users can check up to see whether their system is compatible for the latest OS with the help of Windows Upgrade Assistant. If the current PC can’t run Windows 8.1, then it might be the time to consider for a new one.
Since the perishing of Windows XP is so gradual the users need not have to worry immediately. They can use their current PC for the time-being.
