Islamabad: In an attack on army convoy in Pakistan about 20 security personnel were reported to have killed while 25 others injured
The convoy was heading to North Waziristan when it attacked by a bomb blast near Aamandi Chowk, Razmak Gate-Miranshsh Road in Bannu. According to authorities the blast was made by means of a remote control. There are probabilities to increase the death toll.
The security forces have surrounded the area while rescue and relief operations are in full swing. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Bannu town, which locates 150 kilometers south-west to Peshwar, is the gateway to the semi-autonomous Waziristan tribal region.
Numerous attacks were taken place at this region which is also known for a massive jail break in April 2012 during which 384 prisoners were escaped from its central prison.
