Presence of large number of Engineering colleges and other technical institutions have eased this effort to a great extent by providing appropriate manpower resource required for the growth of IT/ITES industries in the region.
The establishment of Cyberparks in Kozhikode has transformed the city as the IT hub of Malabar. Currently, three IT parks have already started functioning in Kozhikode. They are Government CyberPark UL CyberPark and Cafit Square IT park.
Government Cyberpark in Kozhikode
Cyber Park, which is a Government of Kerala organization is planned in the lines of Technopark at Thiruvananthapuram and Infopark in Kochi. The intention of this institution is to build, operate and manage IT parks for the promotion and development of investment in IT and ITES industries in Malabar region of Kerala. The establishment has been registered under the Societies Act 1860 on 28-01-09. The Cyber Park is still in the process of setting up reliable IT parks at Kozhikode which can meet the overseas IT requirements.
The Cyberpark is strategically positioned to provide the benefits of the skilled resources at a lower infrastructure cost and the high quality of living, combined with its location and benefits to investors around the world. Further the number of reputed universities and educational institutions in the region has made it even more compelling to start the next phase of IT Parks developments in this region. It is hoped that the Cyberpark can provide a friendly, cost effective and top of the line infrastructure to the IT/ITES investors, there by acting as a catalyst for the social and infrastructure development of the region with a vision to provide unlimited employment opportunities and a substantial contribution to economical development of the state especially in the Malabar Region.
The government Cyberpark in Kozhikode is located on the NH 17 bye-pass road which connects Kochi in the South with Mumbai in the north.
UL Cyberpark
UL Cyberpark, is the first IT park in Kozhikode ( Calicut) region. It is being developed as an IT/ITES Special Economic Zone. The establishment has been functioning in a spectacular green energy efficient building. A LEED certified IT Park rated for Gold standards is the special feature of this establishment.

CAFIT Square IT park
CAFIT Square is a Mini IT Park of the Calicut Forum for Information Technology (CAFIT). A not for profit organization, CAFIT is focused on the goals of bringing a conducive eco system for technology entrepreneurship in Malabar. Established in 2008, CAFIT brings together over 100 man years of collective experience to enable its member companies to drive their enterprises with greater operational efficiency and guides technology entrepreneurs to achieve their business objectives. The presence of premier institutions like NIT C, IIMK, The Technology Business Incubator of Science and Technology etc., also helps technology growth of CAFIT with their support when needed.
CAFIT Square was an innovative idea brought on the anvil by members of CAFIT, to bring world class facilities and a conducive atmosphere for growth of Information Technology in the region. Today, CAFIT Square is looked upon as a progressive approach in Information Technology development and gets attracted by industry all over. Many of the member companies of CAFIT Square are alumni of premier institutions like NIT C, IIM K etc. The first phase of CAFIT Square has 12 companies. Though 30,000 sq ft area was looked upon as huge at the start, more expansion plans are already projected to the building management to get lease of more space for growth.
